Born in New York in 2002, James Barra was part of the generation being raised as computers and other information technology swelled like it had never before. Falling in love with gaming at a young age, he wanted to be like the developers and content creators he grew up watching. Be it in film, games, writing, or however else James wanted to create things with the intent to entertain.
As he entered the Covid-19 pandemic, and with it adulthood, he found himself working on modifications for the games he frequented most. He took a nose-dive into 3D modeling, level design, and some very light programming. As well, finally finding the time to join a D&D party as he had wanted to, he developed a knack for storytelling, and would craft up elaborate narratives with his crewmates. All of this, however, would be cast aside upon leaving New York for college.
Barely scraping by his first online semester of Civil Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology, James decided to transfer his major into Game Design in the school's still relatively new Visual Arts & Technology department, picking back up many of the game development skills he had sought out the year prior. It was during these critical years that James adopted proficienceies in softwares like Cinema 4D, Unreal Engine, and much of the Adobe suite. Between his classes, he would set out to make simple videos and video-game mods for his peers to enjoy.
Now, with a very peculiar college experience behind him, he meanders forth into the world in search of opportunities to work, learn, and most importantly create things that he and his loved ones would care about.
